Fabulous Thought for Today

You know, I do not think it is necessarily looks, I do not think I am the prettiest girl…

Everyone has something that is their asset, some have the hair, some have the cheekbones, others have the lips. But once you know what is your asset, then you should capitalize on it. – Blu Cantrell

Payless Getting Sued Again – This Time By AE

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. today announced that it has won a preliminary injunction against Payless ShoeSource, Inc. in a trademark infringement and unfair competition lawsuit.

All that suing comes out of Payless use of the AMERICAN EAGLE mark for footwear and bags.

The ruling now requires Payless to adopt a clear disclaimer stating that AMERICAN EAGLE by Payless is not affiliated with AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS.

AEO contends that the discount shoe chain is deceiving consumers by portraying itself as the owner of “the youth fashion brand American Eagle®” and indicating that it is selling genuine AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS merchandise when in fact it is not.

Shame on you, Payless!

Master P: Why I started a clothing line

Master P and Romeo in their P.Miller Designs clothing line, available at Wal-Mart in August 2008

Father-and-son duo, Master P and Romeo, recently returned to their hometown in New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival.

There, not as performers but as motivational speakers, the two shared messages of hope and revealed one of the reasons for starting their new clothing line at Wal-Mart.

“New Orleans is my home, it’s where I was born and raised,” said Master P.

“I was able to overcome an environment filled with poverty, drugs, and violence through education, setting goals, and dreaming big. I understand the financial struggles faced by inner-city families, so I created high fashion clothing at affordable prices that will be available at Wal-Mart in August for back-to-school season. I look forward to coming back to Essence year after year to empower our youth and watch my people grow.”

That’s awesome!
