Sooo Fabulous!

For the first time, America will select the contestants they think deserve a spot in the top four at the Miss America pageant.

More than likely, viewers’ decisions will be based on their performance in a reality TV series, which TLC will broadcast.

I’m not exactly a pageant fan, but of all the episodes, I think fashionistas will want to tune into the third one.

That’s when contestants will compete in a fashion challenge.

Clinton Kelly, from TLC’s WHAT NOT TO WEAR, will be the episode’s guest expert guiding the ladies through

• The Team Challenge: Miss American Shopper.
  Will it be retail rivalry when each team has to share one shopping budget?

• Individual Challenge: Little Black Dress returns with a fashion‐forward eye on personal style and resourcefulness.

The fashion challenge episode premieres January 16, 2009 at 10 PM (ET/PT).

CNN recently sat down with Donatella Versace to get her take on fashion do’s and don’ts.

CNN: What should a woman always have in her wardrobe?

Versace: A pair of black high heels.

CNN: What should a man always have in his wardrobe?

Versace: A pair of low-waist pants. It makes your upper body taller and your shoulders larger.

CNN: What is the most commonly made fashion mistake?

Versace: Too much make-up and clothes together. It’s about one of those, not all.

CNN: What is the ugliest trend you’ve ever seen?

Versace: Flat shoes and lunch pants together.

Was I in love with Christina Aguilera’s red carpet look at the AMAs?

No.

And now I think I know exactly why.

It’s her stylist! (or a very poorly edited video).

Myspace followed Simone Harouche, Xtina’s glam chief, on a shopping trip where the singer’s AMAs outfit was supposed to come together.

Like I said, the stylist could be the victim of poor video editing, where stuffing everything into a 2-minute excerpt didn’t do justice to what happened in reality.

Whatever it is, Harouche simply does not come across as competent here.

So Britney picked a Bambi award in Germany today.

And they chose Karl Lagerfeld, distinguished fashion designer, to be the presenter.

By the way, Bambi Awards recognize top talent in the entertainment, literature, sports and politics arenas.

Britney won the “Pop International” Award.
