Last Thursday, Isaac Mizrahi launched his new Liz Claiborne New York collection.
It all went down at Macy’s Herald Square with a whole lot of hooplah.
I really like the new, youthful energy Isaac is bringing to Liz Clairborne, which customarily appeals to a middle-aged market.
Check out the Isaac’s Picks section on the Liz Claiborne New York web site!

After celebrating her birthday at a star-studded party this weekend, Queen Latifah’s Monday got off to a potentially bad start.
Reuters reports indicate that two lawsuits were filed against the singer-actress today by a makeup artist and stylist.
The two claim they are owed hundreds of thousands of dollars for their services over the past five years, according to the news item.
In two separate lawsuits filed in Manhattan federal court, cosmetics consultant Roxanna Floyd and fashion stylist Susan Moses accused the Grammy Award-winning singer, whose real name is Dana Owens, of breach of contract.
Floyd claimed she is owed more than $700,000 for helping develop, produce and market the “Queen Collection,” which is the singer’s line of cosmetics for CoverGirl.
Moses claimed she is owed more than $300,000 including for advising Owens, 39, in her role as the spokeswoman and model for “Curvations,” a lingerie line that targets fuller figured women.
The lawsuits said Floyd and Moses ended their working relationships with Owens in February 2008. Both women have also consulted for Owens in her film roles, including “Hairspray” in 2007.
A spokeswoman for Owens was not immediately available for comment.

We’re in the era of the recessionista but how far will fashion lovers go?
A former Lucky magazine fashion editor is testing our limits.
She’s launched a clothing rental web site, featuring designers like Vera Wang, Etro, DVF and Tracy Reese.
WearTodayGoneTomorrow.com is offering a range of looks at 90% off retail, and with no monthly membership or late fees, the creators say.
They also claim to have developed “a revolutionary sizing system” to guarantee every order will fit.
However, they say they’ll give customers their money back if it doesn’t.

There are some things we never really think about.
Like where do short men shop? What do they wear?
Enter Jimmy Au, who created a line called For Men 5 ’8″ and Under.
He was tapped to create the first ever extra short collections for Jack Victor, DKNY, Lauren by Ralph Lauren, CK by Calvin Klein, Sean John, and Michael byMichael Kors.
A more recent job would be his selection to wardrobe Olympic Gold Medalist, Scott Hamilton for the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships. Scott stands at just 5’2″.
The designer’s also copped notable mentions in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Men’s Vogue.
Apparently, Forbes listed Jimmy Au’s For Men 5’8″ and Under as one of their 2008 Top Ten Clothing Stores for Men.
Who knew?

It’s not often we hear positive things about Naomi Campbell.
However, yesterday she copped positive publicity when she strutted down a catwalk to raise funds for Mumbai’s emergency medical services, according to reports from Reuters.
Along with a host of Indian celebrities, the 39-year-old Campbell helped raise funds for the city’s emergency medical services in a charity show called “Mai Mumbai.”
Campbell heads a charity called “Fashion for Relief.”
Islamist gunmen went on a three-day rampage on some of the most famous landmarks in Mumbai, the financial and entertainment capital of India, killing 166 people.
After the show, Campbell, dressed in a red saree and traditional Indian jewelry, told Reuters why she loves coming to India but won’t act in Bollywood again, and how the global economic slowdown has affected her charity work.

My guess is that it’s the International Vision Expo, which runs March 26-29 at The Jacob Javits Center.
“I love wearing sunglasses and now I have my very own line!” said Paris, who also cleared up rumors of a club brawl in the blog post.
