Fashion Week Falls Victim to Economy

Following fashion weeks in New York, Paris and Milan, we’re hearing of cost cutting at another major fashion event.

This time it’s Russian Fashion Week.

Not so popular, we know, but it shows that the declining economy is affecting every corner of the world.

The event has shortened its Fall/Winter 2009/2010 season schedule hosting approximately 50 shows as opposed to 65-75 in previous years.

It turns out that as is the case in Paris and Milan, a lot of designers are opting to make presentations instead of full fashion shows due to budget constraints.

Just in case you’re wondering who shows collections at RFW, it’s usually the best Russian and Ukrainian designers with insets of French, Italian and Spanish names.
