Last night, GapKids and babyGap announced plans for a new collection created for Gap by Stella McCartney.
I can’t help but wonder when adults are going to benefit from a fashion partner like this one…
Anyhow, expected to launch in late 2009, the collection will be carried in select GapKids and babyGap stores in the United States and Canada, the UK, France and Ireland, and Japan, as well as online in the US.
In other Gap, Inc. news, we’re hearing that the company will remodel 50 Old Navy stores to give them a new look as a way of “connecting with customers.”
Also in the pipeline, according to a release issued today, is the addition of 50 new contemporary apparel labels later this summer at Piperlime.com.
This year’s BET Awards come off June 28, 2009.
We’re already on cue to review the night’s fashion online.
But you may also want to join hip-hop’s first lady, Queen Latifah, when she hosts the My Black Is Beautiful Post Show at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, June 28 at 11:00 PM ET/PT.
The special will capture and recap the atmosphere, style and sexy of the night’s festivities. Joined by BET correspondents Tigger and Alesha Renee, Queen Latifah will highlight show winners, best performances and looks from the stars that lived it all as they stop by Procter and Gamble’s My Black Is Beautiful Lounge.
My Black is Beautiful celebrates the diverse collective beauty of African-American women and encourages Black women to define and promote their own beauty standard.

Bad news: eLUXURY announced today that the company’s retail operations are closing.
Good news: from now through June 26, you can take advantage of eLUXURY’s designer closeout apparel, shoes and accessories!
Why is the site closing down? According to LVMH — the same company which owns Louis Vuitton — the site “is being redeveloped as an online destination for stylish editorial content.”
The sale features fashion’s favorite designer brands like Alexander Wang, Hussein Chalayan, Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Thakoon, Zac Posen, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana and many more – all at up to 40 percent off.

Today Page Six published a report on Kimora’s new baby, revealing his name and the inspiration behind it.
KIMORA has a Kenzo. Kimora Lee Simmons (above) and Djimon Hounsou gave their baby boy the very fashionable name Kenzo Lee Hounsou, inspired no doubt by retired Japanese fashion icon Kenzo Takada. Kenzo, born here Saturday, weighed in at 8 pounds, and was 20 inches long. “He’s a little prince,” said a friend. This is Kimora’s third child — she has two daughters, Ming Lee and Aoki Lee, with her ex-husband, Russell Simmons.
