Why Everything Jimmy Choo Rocks!

Few can deny that the Jimmy Choo brand is elegant, trendy, luxurious — and now accessible, thanks to a new partnership with H&M.

And today, I got an email today that cemented its fabulousness in my mind.

The news is that Jimmy Choo and Elton John AIDS Foundation have launched a way cool photo contest to support the launch of Project PEP.

Project PEP is a charity collection that donates 25% of sales to the Simelela Rape Centre in South Africa.

That money helps provide the HIV-preventative treatment PEP, which must be taken within 72 hours of exposure to HIV. It also helps with counselling to victims of rape in South Africa, which has the highest count of rape in the world.

So go on over to www.jimmychoo72.com and submit your photos for the “You, your shoes and 72″ contest–and a good cause.

What’s in it for you? Continue reading

Young Cancer Patients Design Shoes for Nike

For the sixth year, Nike has given young cancer patients the opportunity to design their own sneakers.

This year, the inspiring partnership between the sports brand and the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, has paired six kids between 11 and 14 with Nike designers.

According to Nike, the shoes created express the patients’ personal stories and will help add to the $2 million+ that have been raised through the program.

All profits from the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection benefit the hospital in many ways, including providing healthcare to uninsured patients.

The MRSP for the collection begins at $88.

New H&M to Open in Washington, DC!

With all this Jimmy Choo talk, I omitted a completely noteworthy tidbit for my DC-area readers.

I got an email from H&M today confirming this Thursday’s opening of the new H&M store at Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg, MD.

The first 100 shoppers will receive an H&M Access to Fashion Pass with random values of $10, $25, $50, $75, or $100.

I’m guessing any passes in the $50-$100 range will be pretty scarce but for what it’s worth, good luck!

For more grand opening details, follow H&M USA on Twitter.

And, oh. Happy shopping!

But thanks to the socialite’s series of tweets this afternoon, we can consider her 960,000+ followers informed.

Just so you know, Paris’ shoes are also available on Shoes.com.

Price points? $63.99 to $201.00–from what I’ve seen.

Btw, if you’re a global girl, you’d be pleased to know that Shoes.com ships internationally.

A Shoe Lover’s Holiday Dream Come True!

Baileys Irish Cream has declared that they’re two sure things that make a holiday get-together irresistible — amazing party shoes and a delicious drink. (They’re probably right!)

And to celebrate the season,  the Baileys Holiday Shoe Collection of Baileys-inspired designs will be auctioned online to benefit Clothes Off Our Back.

If you’ve never heard of Clothes Off Our Back, please make this mental note:

COOB is a national non-profit organization that auctions clothing, jewelry and other items donated by top celebrities to help support many causes around the world, including the fight against hunger

To support this powerful, yet admittedly indulgent cause, visit www.clothesoffourback.org to view and bid on the shoes. (You must be 21 or older).

Contributing designers include Alejandro Ingelmo, Farylrobin, Rafe, Shree Moni and Vanessa Noel. The auction runs November 11 – December 2. Bidding starts at $75, with all money raised going to charity.

Also, Baileys is opening two holiday shoe stores, one in NYC and the other in LA– for two days only. Continue reading

Seems like William Rast will be around for a while.

The brand co-founded by Justin Timberlake opened two retail stores in California (where else?!) last week.

These are to be followed by 40-50 more “over the next several years,” according to a statement by People’s Liberation.

The “New America” culture brand is also celebrating the opening of an “off-price” store at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon, CA.

Check out William Rast on Twitter for great grand-opening offers and more deets.
