Simmons Sisters Donate Pastry Shoes to Haiti Cause

Vanessa and Angela Simmons (Rev Run’s daughters and creators of the Pastry brand) have committed to helping Haiti.

With nearly 50 percent of Haiti’s population under the age of 18, the Simmons sisters have pledged a donation of Pastry shoes, as well as clothing, to the kids on the island.

Vanessa, the older of the duo noted, “We can all do something to help. Pastry has chosen to give Haiti’s kids who are displaced and vulnerable to this heart-breaking situation. We pray that they will overcome this unfortunate and horrible tragedy.”

Pastry is working in conjunction with the American Red Cross to coordinate the donation.

Late last week, Crocs also announced a donation of shoes to the Haitian cause.

Who Wore What! The BET Honors

Some of the entertainment industry’s top celebrities attended the third annual BET Honors celebration held at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC Saturday night.

The stunning Gabrielle Union returned to host the show, which celebrated an A-list of legendary artists, including Whitey Houston, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and actress and model Queen Latifah.

The BET Honors premieres on Monday, February 1 at 10 PM ET.  Meanwhile, check out the full list of awardees and some of the night’s performing artists.

Stars Shine at Golden Globes

Wearing ribbons to commemorate Haiti’s crisis, a glitzy parade of actors, actresses and T.V. personalities braved heavy raindrops on Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards red carpet.

Umbrellas popped open, offering shelter to Hollywood’s who’s who as they arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

As the night wrapped up, it was clear that the leading story would be Avatar’s win of awards for Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Director-Motion Picture.

Macy’s is giving fashion designers a major opportunity to have their designs in the department store.

The chain has launched, “Macy’s Open Call,” which gives apparel and accessories designers a chance to introduce their work to Macy’s Fashion Office.
