I’ve seen the lengths people go to just to become the proud and accomplished owners of Louis Vuitton handbags. Stories of a month-long granola bar diet, or taking public transportation instead of spending on fuel, come to mind.
But I’m wondering how the die-hard Louis V fans will feel about “Mon Monogram.” It’s a new personalization service from the bag and luggage makers, who say they can customize your selected purchase within six to eight weeks.
I tried it and was able to add my own variation of stripes and initials. Maybe it was my choice of colors, or placement of my initials but for some reason, I didn’t like the outcome very much (see below).
The verdict? I’ll leave the personalization to people who already own a closet full of Louis Vuitton and stick with the plain old classic pieces. Because at nearly $1,000 a pop, I can’t see how it’s worth the risk.
Try the personalization tool for yourself.
