Angola Wins Miss Universe 2011
Angolan, Leila Lopes, is the winner of the 60th Annual Miss Universe pageant.
A clear crowd favorite as the LIVE telecast got underway in São Paulo, Brazil, the 24 year old stood out among nearly 90 competitors.
In the end, the top five contestants were
- 5th place – China
- 4th place – Philippines
- 3rd place – Brazil
- 2nd place – Ukraine
- 1st place – Angola
Lopes, born to Cape Verdean immigrants in Benguela, Angola, is a business management student in Great Britain. She takes over from Ximena Navarrete of Mexico who claimed the 2010 title in August last year.
