The uncertainty looming over the future of Project Runway is saddening!

When will NBC Universal and the Weinstein Company come to an agreement so faitful viewers can be confident that we’ll be able to enjoy Season Six?!

The New York Times reported on the situation following the season’s finale at New York Fashion Week.

Although Season 6 won’t be broadcast for months, if ever, the producers filmed an awkward finale at Fashion Week in New York on Friday, in a tented room filled with barely hushed uncertainty about the show’s future.

“We are all in a bit of a limbo,” the show’s host, the model Heidi Klum, told the roughly 1,000 audience members, “and we hope that everything is sorted out very soon.”

Virgin Makes Way for Forever 21

Virgin Megastores is getting ready to host the biggest sale in music retail history!

The major discount event begins Thursday at the music chain’s iconic Times Square.

What does this mean for recessionistas?!

It’ll mean just one more year until the retail space at Times Square reopens as Forever 21, according to “The New York Times.”

It will be the clothing chain’s largest store.

It will be combined with some adjoining space to create a 90,000-square-foot store that will be triple the size of any of Forever 21′s three current stores in Manhattan, said Lawrence Meyer, a senior vice president of Forever 21.

Justin Timberlake is Most Stylish Man

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

Justin Timberlake is the most stylish man in the states.

According to American GQ, JT beat out Mark Ronson and photographer Alex Lubomirski for the top spot.

So where exactly does the William Rast designer get his inspiration?

GQmagazine.com reports:

Timberlake attributes his unerring dress sense to his stepfather, a banker who laid out his suits every night and went to work “looking like Richard Gere in [American] Gigolo.”

Btw, you can watch the William Rast runway show LIVE, thanks to Extra.

Diane Von Furstenberg Fall 2009 Runway Show

I can never get enough of DvF!

So excited about this runway show, which featured Chanel Iman,  the African-American model most recently in the spotlight after critics noted the absence of Black women on couture runways.

But what’s up with reports that Whitney Port wasn’t even at the show?

I’m sure there’ll be updates on that soon. Staying tuned.

Who Is Basil Soda?

basil-soda-summer-09-2

At the Grammys, we saw his work at least twice.

Both Katy Perry and Paula Abdul were wearing pieces from his Summer ’09 collection.

So just who is Basil Soda?

First off, he’s a Lebanese designer – with a respectable 28 years experience in the haute couture world.

And it’s no surprise we haven’t really heard much about him.

According to bio details issued by his PR people, he’s been busy at the forefront of Middle Eastern chic and is only now making his mark in Europe and the States.

As evidenced in Katy and Paula’s dresses, Basil Soda’s got a thing for corsages, muslins, lace, satin and silk.

His penchant for symmetry, shape and the relationship between points, curves, lines is also pretty obvious.

Grammy Fashion Roundup

  1. We missed Rihanna and what we’re sure would have been a show-stopping red-carpet look.
  2. Mimosa, named the color of 2009, made the Grammy Awards sunny. (see Solange, Paula Abdul and Natalie Cole)
  3. Natalie Cole looked fabulous; Can’t believe she’s 59!
  4. Jennifer Hudson was beautifully classic — on stage and on the red carpet.
  5. Katy Perry’s bubblegum-colored dress was very, well, Katy.
  6. Both Katy’s and Paula Abdul’s dresses were designed by Basil Soda — a Lebanese designer.
  7. Leona Lewis’ dress … was something wrong with the bust line fit, or was it just me?
  8. Estelle’s red carpet outfit — out of this world.
  9. While we’re chatting about Estelle, let’s talk about her and Kanye’s coordinating on-stage outfits. 80′s fun!
  10. Lisa Rinna – daring, to say the least.
  11. Kim Kardashian’s dress showed lots of character. Thought it was cool.
  12. Did I mention that we missed Rihanna?
  13. Paris Hilton’s outfit – colorful; her shoes were très sparkly and Wizard-of-Oz-esque, except they weren’t red.
  14. M.I.A. was pretty in her red-carpet preggers dress. Prayed to God she wouldn’t go into labor there on the stage in her polka dot preggers ensemble.
  15. Kathy Griffin’s outfit was ordinary — not like I didn’t expect that.
  16. Audrina Patridge was elegant.
  17. Can’t help but wonder if Janelle Monae’s styling team will ever consider a girly look.
  18. Can’t imagine the effort that must’ve gone into the detailing in Carrie Underwood’s dress.
  19. With all the rumors of bankruptcy, and of Simon Cowell having to pay for her house, Fantasia looked just fine.
  20. Jordin Sparks’ chose Arizona fashion designer, Debra Davenport, to make her dress. Thought the fabric was a bit busy but it was a good fit.
