Today marks the end of the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival. But we’re far from getting over the eye-catching looks that popped up at its star-studded photocalls, red carpets and events.

The Festival, more diverse than any other entertainment event because of its global appeal, brought together well-known film icons and other A-listers.

Here’s what got our attention.

America’s Next Top Model is returning for a 19th Cycle, with unprecedented changes.

For the first time ever, the public will now be able to vote for their favorite contestants, determining who stays and who gets booted from the contest. The results will help Tyra and her panel of judges decide who will be eliminated.

In what is definitely a more interactive move for the popular TV show, it certainly does help temper the recent controversy over the firing of well loved judges from last cycle’s panel.

Speaking of judges, for the new cycle, male model Rob Evans joins Tyra Banks and fashion PR icon Kelly Cutrone, as the third permanent judge. According to The CW, Johnny Wujek, stylist to the stars, including singer Katy Perry, rounds out the group as the new creative consultant, who will guide the models through their photo shoots.

Cycle 19 delivers another first for ANTM with its college focus, including students enrolled in all aspects of tertiary education: colleges and universities, beauty schools, you name it.

The prize package, the details of which are unconfirmed, will help the winner launch her modeling career and help her with the completion of her degree.

The new cycle kicks of in early October on a new night, Fridays at 8 p.m.

Another curtain has fallen on American Idol, and another male has won the coveted top spot.

Although my musical love for Phillip Phillips runs deep and wide, there’s no denying that although Jessica Sanchez is runner-up on the music side of things, she hands-down won season 11 with a style ID that cannot be easily forged.

From over-the-top accessories to striking silhouettes, the 16-year-old showed up her fellow contestants in statement-making pieces week after week.

The designer, known for her amazing red carpet gowns and stunning wedding dresses, named Sandy Lane, Barbados, one of the top places in the world to honeymoon. (Read more at Vera Unveiled)

And I honestly couldn’t agree more. If you’re in love with luxury, an avid jet-setter–and wouldn’t mind experiencing a bit of heaven on earth, then this is the spot.

Let’s face it. Some of the world’s best fashion isn’t exactly accessible.

So it’s not uncommon for average, aspiring style savants to find themselves poring over major fashion houses’ websites, daydreaming of one day owning one (or many) of their coveted goods.

Admittedly, I’m guilty of this awful time-wasting act.

Just recently, I found myself on Chanel’s website (chanel.com), and stumbled upon the coolest offbeat items in their inventory. Forget shoes, purses, sunglasses or one of their resort pieces. The fashion house has created some of the most random items that scream summer fun.

Unexpected? Yes. But all the more desirable because of that unforgettable Chanel signature.

Kerry Washington at the 2011 BET Awards

“Too Big to Miss” is how BET is labeling BET Awards 12, scheduled for July 1, 2012 at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

And if the list of nominees and performers is anything to go by, we should be in for an eventful red carpet in the style department, too.

During a press conference at BET’s New York offices, the media learned that Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown have already been booked to perform at the show, which Samuel L. Jackson will host.

Nominees include stars who are known for headlining with their fashion choices, including Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Melanie Fiona, Rihanna, Serena Williams, Willow Smith and Zoe Saldana. Chris Brown, Kanye West, Trey Songz and Usher, also known to shake up a few things stylewise, also received nods for this year’s awards.

It will probably never attain the popularity or a viewing audience the size of the Grammys’. However, there’s no denying that there’s something absolutely charming about the Billboard Music Awards.

On Sunday, May 20, the 2012 edition of the event brought music’s most talented to the red carpet at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

In what I could only describe as an honest show of their fashion sense, the stars delivered a mixed bag of style, including the trendy, over-the-top and the unexpected ahead of a LIVE television broadcast.

So I’m not a mom.

But there are a few things I think I’d like if I were one.

Last night, it was that time of year again.

Unlike past events, however, the Costume Institute Gala seemed to have no single “it” trend that dominated the red carpet. Everything from sequins to jewel tones to elaborate (and I do mean elaborate) trains to pastels and traditional black popped up.

Sidebar: Of course, it wouldn’t quite have been the Met Gala if the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art didn’t present the usual challenge to Hollywood’s A-listers who continuously opt for skin-tight, floor-length gowns despite the climb ahead of them at the entrance.

While it might be fun to identify the hits and misses of the night, here’s a look at all we loved from this year’s Met Gala, themed “Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations.”

It’s been called “nerd prom.” Its location? “Hollywood for ugly people” aka Washington, DC.

But whatever labels we place on it, one thing is for sure: the White House Correspondents’ Dinner could very well be the most glamorous gathering of celebrities outside of Awards season.

Saturday’s event brought 2,000 journalists and stars to the red carpet at Washington Hilton, where they were feted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

The guest list included  Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan and Reese Witherspoon. See what they wore.
