Krista Named ANTM Cycle 14 Winner

Last night, while most of America consumed themselves with the American Idol elimination show, a huge event was happening in Modelland.

Krista was named the winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 14, beating out Raina for the top spot.

I honestly haven’t been following this season very closely but wish Krista all the best.

P.S. if you want to play catch up and watch full episodes from this past cycle, click here.

Why Tyra Took ANTM to New Zealand

Of all the places Tyra could take this season’s ANTM contestants, why in the world did she choose New Zealand?

“…Because it is a place that a lot of Americans, particularly young Americans, think of as a fantasy destination,” says Tyra. Apparently, New Zealand also caught the cast’s attention for its “fashion forward” quality, hip boutiques and restaurants.

So much that the tourism officials in New Zealand have launched an ANTM special for travel to their island. Continue reading

BET Gives Glimpse of Life As A Black Male Model

It’s what I imagine will be an all-male-version of ANTM or “Models of the Runway.”

For obvious reasons (*wink), I can’t wait until CENTRIC’s new show, “Model City,” premieres February 18 at 8 PM ET. Continue reading

Reeewind!: ANTM Finale

Image :: cwtv.com

I guess I got distracted on Wednesday night (November 18) — and perhaps the day after, too.

Somehow, I completely forgot to mention Nicole Fox’ win of ANTM Cycle 13. This means that she is the first ever winner in the show’s experiment with shorter contestants.

Congratulations, Nicole!

If you missed the final episode, which 2.7 million watched last week, or just want to see it again, you may view it on www.cwtv.com.

Lauren Conrad, Kim Kardashian to Appear on Next Cycle of ANTM

Cycle 13 of ANTM premieres September 9 from 8-10 p.m. on The CW.

And for the entire season, each week will feature a member of the fashion community serving on the panel of judges with Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker and J. Alexander.

You may recall from past blog posts that, for the first time ever, the show features a crop of fourteen girls with one thing in common: they are all 5’7″ and under, well below the industry standard.

The guest judges include:

LAUREN CONRAD is a television personality best known for “The Hills,” and debuts the LC Lauren Conrad fashion line this fall. Episode airs September 16.

KIM KARDASHIAN is a television personality who started her career as a fashion stylist. With her sisters, she opened a designer clothing store, DASH, in Los Angeles and Miami. She also has an online shoe company and will soon launch her own fragrance.

CHANEL IMAN one of the world’s most in-demand models, having walked in runway shows for Dolce & Gabana and Valentino. Episode airs September 9.

ANTM Tops TV Ratings

America’s Next Top Model ruled TV last night between 8 and 9 pm.

According to Neilsen ratings, ANTM was the most watched show on in that hour among females between 12 and 34.

Apparently, viewing doubled in the second half hour among adult viewers, including men.

Interesting, indeed.
