Macy’s is giving fashion designers a major opportunity to have their designs in the department store.

The chain has launched, “Macy’s Open Call,” which gives apparel and accessories designers a chance to introduce their work to Macy’s Fashion Office.

Designers, who must not be Macy’s vendors and at least 18 years old, must use EDI compliant manufacturing facilities to be considered.

To get started, candidates must apply online at macysinc.com/opencall. Applications close January 31.

The Open Call will be held on February 25 and 26, 2010, at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City.
