In January 2009, Jessica Simpson got a lot of flak when she appeared on stage in mom jeans at a Florida event.

Now almost a year later, the entrepreneur’s name is being linked to the new Jessica Simpson Jeanswear brand being designed under the Jessica Simpson Collection.

“The vision of the collection is to be iconic yet fashion forward; always accessible yet timeless,” said key stakeholders in the new project today.

The denim-inspired apparel line, which will include jeanswear as well as woven and knit tops, will be available from Fall 2010.

The launch of Jessica Simpson Jeanswear will include a Women’s Wear Daily feature, personal appearances and charity promotions benefiting the Armed Forces Children’s Education Fund (AFCEF).
