Let’s be honest. The handbag section is the abandoned lovechild of your local department store. If you’ve got a stylish bone in your body, you do all you can to avoid it.
But new brand, olivia + joy (why does it scream alice + olivia?!), is hoping to change the game with its collection, which debuts exclusively at Macy’s this week.
“We have been challenged by many of our key retail partners to inject some excitement back into the handbag department,” says Abe Dweck, President of Accessory Exchange, the company behind olivia + joy.
The company promises a vibrant, on-trend collection, featuring studs and chains, ruffles and bows, and a wide-ranging palette, with price points from $48 to $98.
Let’s hope it really does take the yawn out of the department store handbag hunt. Because quite frankly, I’m bored.
