It seems like we’ve heard very little from Lacoste since colorful polo shirts and popped collars stopped being all the rage.
But the brand has made announcements of a new creative director and a design collaboration within days of each other, hinting that a makeover may be in the works.
On Wednesday, Portuguese Filipe Oliveira Baptista took up the creative reins at Lacoste. Said to have a great sense of color, he’s earmarked to breath new life into Lacoste’s sportswear. Spring/Summer 2012 marks his first collection.
But before then, we’ve got a Catherine Malandrino / Lacoste partnership to look forward to. The designer is working with the brand on a capsule collection due next Spring, which she says will fuse the activewear concept with femininity.
Can’t wait to see what she’s cooking up!
