After browsing photos of Wednesday night’s Essence “Black Women in Music” Los Angeles  event, Leona Lewis certainly stood out.

Why? Because the British singer walked the red carpet wearing an outfit almost identical to the one she donned for Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” premiere the night before.

This time, however, instead of red lips set on nude mesh, a pretty yellow bow was the chosen outfit feature.

With my curiosity piqued and fashion radar hyper-alarming, I set out to get to the bottom of what I considered very befuddling fashion choices. And whaddya know?

It turns out each outfit was designed by the recording artist. There’s even a Facebook poll on which outfit was better. Go on. Cast your vote. And while you’re at it, check out the fan comments. I reckon they aren’t in favor of the new look.
