Tuesday evening’s 2011 Brit Awards at the O2 Arena began with upbeat red carpet style.

As usual, the UK crowd delivered loud fashion statements, marked by delicious detailing, sparkly fabrics, cutouts and bold hues.

Of course, all eyes were on Rihanna, whose show-stopping look got lots of attention at the Grammys just two days earlier. The singer chose two standout pieces for this occasion–a Christian Dior Couture gown on the red carpet and an Oscar De La Renta piece for her award acceptance.
