Quality Over Quantity: A Lesson in Luggage

I’m not a fan of TSA screenings, long airport lines, or uncomfortable airline seats.
But I am a fan of discovering new places and heading back to my island home of palm-fringed beaches and balmy breezes.

(In case you haven’t heard, Barbados is pretty awesome.)

But as I daydream about my Summer trip home, I’m also forced to think of my pathetic luggage collection.

Over the past seven years, I’ve spent way too much money on about 20 pieces in all.  Over time, they have suffered broken wheels, faulty zippers, torn exteriors, or some other awful airline tragedy.

At the beginning of the year, you’ll remember that I vowed to choose quality over quantity when shopping. Luggage is no exception.

So I was happy to discover Louis Vuitton’s Zephyr collection: four-wheel travel companions that look ah-mazing and come with outstanding care service.

Their team says each piece lasts up to 10 years with one trip per week, or up to 40 years with one trip per month. That’s certainly longer than any single piece of luggage has lasted me.

In some major cities, there’s a 48-hour express service to handle any issues such as broken wheels or handles.

In addition, Louis Vuitton says they’ll repair each piece for at least 10 years after the day you buy it.

How awesome is that?
