For two seasons, Shonda Rhimes has hooked us with heart-stopping, cliff-hanging episodes on the ABC hit series, Scandal.

But there’s another woman behind the scenes, who has made me more of a Gladiator.

Her name is Lyn Paolo, the show’s Emmy award-winning costume designer.

Thanks to Lyn, whenever I think about the next step in my PR career, I see myself as a fashionable fixer, wearing ivory trench coats to work and solving crises in impeccably tailored, perfectly accessorized career suits–every single day. (ha!)

And again, because of Lyn, I have developed a mild obsession with Scandal style. So, ladies (and gentlemen?!), presenting six fashion facts about Scandal you don’t really need to know…but which you’re still going to read anyway!

Lyn doesn’t work on the styling alone. Kerry Washington also chips in. The two have worked closely together to perfect the wardrobe for Olivia Pope–the savvy, confident and well-dressed Washington D.C. crisis management mastermind we love.

Favorite designer brands in Pope’s closet include Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Carolina Herrera.

Lyn and Kerry have curated a window installation at the Saks Fifth Avenue New York flagship store to reflect the fashion on the show. The department store and Scandal will kick off the partnership with a star-studded event on October 2, one day before the new season premieres.

On the show, style extends to automobiles, too. We can look out for a sleek, all-new 2014 CLA250 Mercedes-Benz on the show–a great automobile to complement great apparel! A Mercedes-Benz 2014 CLA45 AMG will also be featured in the Saks window installation.

Sure Olivia Pope is stylish but Kerry Washington has got style of her own, too. This Summer, PEOPLE named the actress the World’s Best Dressed Woman. Her secret? “I like to find balance in an outfit where it doesn’t feel too much of any one thing,” Kerry told PEOPLE.

The new season of Scandal premieres Thursday, October 3 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
