Before I settled on my favorites, much of my money went into testing personal care and beauty products until I found “the one”. A significant amount of that spend was also on must-have, recurring purchases such as acne-slaying skin products, shaving cream and costly razors.
Recently, I’ve ditched the razors along with the bumps, ingrown hair and discoloration that can come along with shaving. My newfound love is laser hair removal, which has completely changed my life.
First, thank you so much for reading and sharing my last post. The response was overwhelming.
Not too long after I shared photos from my northern tour online, I started getting lots of requests for outfit details.
If you’re in Barbados and reading this, I’ve got good news.
When the Top 10 Colors for Spring 2016 were announced, I thought they were beautiful. But I was also 100% sure I wouldn’t be wearing many of them. You see, I’m more of a “neutral girl” with an addiction to black, white and grey. Buying bright colors requires a lot of effort from me.
For many years, I had a love-hate relationship with TJX stores. You know, the family of discount stores that includes HomeGoods, Marshalls and T.J.Maxx.
Finding clothing in my size was a rare occurrence. Finding size-six shoes, even rarer. And scoring items I needed in a complete set was a miracle. Think: curtain panels for a space with more than two windows or dinnerware for a party of six.
Recently, I realized I’ve been going about my shopping at TJX stores all wrong.
Most mornings, if I eat breakfast at home, I’ll arrive at the office much later than I care to, so I take it with me.
But I’ve always drawn the line at cereal, which almost always results in a spill when I try to enjoy it on the go.
Then last week happened…
Earlier this week, an email from a work colleague (Subject: Good Different) took me by surprise. She had written to compliment me on my makeup that day.
Unlike most days, I hadn’t had much time to be meticulous with my beauty look that morning. With the help of my newly discovered beauty faves, I was out the shower and through the door in 15 minutes.
It was a good reminder that sometimes, less is more. It was also a good nudge to share my updated list of best beauty buys here on the blog.
Customer service makes the world go round. It’s how we gain access to the products, services and experiences we want and need. But sometimes it’s hard out there for a customer–which leads me to this post.
