Every year, great fragrances are honored at the FiFi Awards. And I hardly ever pay attention.
But after last week’s awards ceremony, I decided to sniff out (sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun!) some of the 26 brands that walked away with major accolades.
Usher recently traveled to the French Riviera to film his new commercial for his latest fragrance, Usher VIP.
The television spot, directed by filmmaker Pierre Morel (Taken), shows Usher and his female companion being chased by paparazzi through the streets of Monte Carlo.
According to Elizabeth Arden, the major brand behind the fragrance, the debut of Usher VIP comes in anticipation of the release of his new album due out in early 2010.
Sean “Diddy” Combs wants to get into your living room.
Why? Well, he’d like to sell you a few of the things that continue to make him famous.
I’m told the entrepreneurial icon will make two LIVE appearances on HSN to debut his fragrances, Holiday Gift Sets and an exclusive Sean John robe on the shopping network.
The shows air Monday, November 30 at 11.00 p.m. ET and Tuesday, December 1 at 1.00a.m. ET.
After seeing episodes of “I Want to Work for Diddy,” I think it might be interesting to watch him try to sell bottles of “Unforgivable” for a change.
Common is launching a new fragrance with Diesel.
It’s called Only The Brave.
Diesel’s folks say it’s “a scent that represents the man who takes a stand.”
To launch the fragrance, Common will also perform at selected Diesel stores worldwide, including the Los Angeles one on Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
Word from Billboard news also suggests that the rapper / actor will be launching a clothing line for Microsoft.
It’s reportedly called Softwear.
