The Council of Fashion Designers of America will honor First Lady Michelle Obama at this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards.
She’ll receive a Board of Directors’ Special Tribute.
Narciso Rodriguez and Jason Wu, both designers to the First Lady, have been nominated for awards, with Marc Jacobs receiving quite a few nominations.
The official announcement of nominees and honorees was made last night at an exclusive event hosted by Swarovski (lead sponsor of the Awards) and the CFDA Board of Directors at the Rooftop Gardens at Rockefeller Center.
The CFDA Fashion Awards take place June 15.
The Waldorf Astoria New York is playing an active role in Fashion Week.
The hotel will host a Fashion Week Suite in the esteemed Waldorf Towers.
With the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) on board, the suite will be open February 16-18.
The Fashion Week Suite will offer complimentary beauty services by appointment, including hair blowouts by the Kenneth Salon, make-up by the Guerlain and manicures by Dashing Diva.
We’re told there’s a whole bunch of other lavish offerings in food and beverages that will be on offer in the suite.
CFDA members, editors, stylists, designers and fashion industry insiders will have exclusive access to the suite.

Seems the entire event is making an uptown move to a plaza in Lincoln Centre.
