Kimora’s 21st Century Collection

On Tuesday,  Kimora Lee Simmons launched her 21st Century Collection at New York Fashion Week.

According to a statement released by her camp, the collection was “synonymous with a lifestyle of extravagance, confidence and femininity.”

You may also have noticed 1940s references juxtaposed with today’s classic rock.

Hence the dramatic pearls, ruffled shirts and sequin blazers, pairing with delicate dresses with large jewel studs and vintage, chained, tapered denim on the runway.

The Fall 2009 collection also features graphic tees with inspirational messages like, “timeless classic,” “confidence,” and “love your self.”

Somebody please tell me she used faux fur for this collection!

Rebecca Taylor Fall 2009 Runway Show

Rebecca Taylor’s Fall ’09 showing in a few words – feminine, pretty and fresh.

The pretty, girly pieces definitely caught my eye.

One trend to watch after this should be too-long belts which accessorized almost every look.

Très cool — in a messy kind of way, like the updos on the models.

And, of course, ruffles continue to be a trademark of women’s collections.

Looks like they’re here to stay–for a while at least.

William Rast Fall 2009 Runway Show

America’s most stylish man revealed his Fall 2009 collection yesterday at New York Fashion Week.

Justin Timberlake’s William Rast hit the runways, showcasing a heavily denim-themed look.

Especially evident in the collection for both men and women was an unmistakable Wild West influence.

I’m not sure the collection was uber-stylish but it sure seemed to be the type of comfortable, practical look we all need every now and then.
