Last week, eager to explore more of Barbados, I set out on a road trip to the north of the island. Along my journey to St. Lucy, there were interruptions, moments when I got lost (thanks, Waze!), and other times when I found myself just spellbound by the beauty of my country and its people.
Last week was the week that seemed like it had no end. It was eventful and emotional.
At its close, I found myself in the belly of Barbados, surrounded by nature in ways I had never seen it. I was exploring Hunte’s Gardens, so named “the most enchanting place on Earth.”
“You’re so organized,” a friend said to me recently, jokingly scoffing. So am I really? Somewhat.
Truth is, getting to this point hasn’t been easy. It’s meant breaking horrible habits and being disciplined in creating new, healthy routines.

As I’m growing older and wiser (!!!), I’m learning a few things about life.
Like the value of thinking higher thoughts, being unflinchingly optimistic, and being deliberate about going after my goals.
But let me be honest: some days start out an awesome note. And others? Well, not so much!

If you call football “soccer,” it’s you probably won’t care much for this post.
However, if you’re a die-hard fan with a soft spot for fashion, you may want to read on.
