Gap Announces MAJOR Design Partnership

I almost died when I heard of what has to be the biggest Gap design partnership today!

The popular retailer has signed on to create gowns with Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Sophie Theallet and Thakoon!

And I’m even more excited to hear about who will be wearing them at the Costume Institute Benefit Gala. Alexander Wang will dress M.I.A. and Zoe Kravitz; Thakoon will dress Kerry Washington and Riley Keough; Jessica Alba and Vera Farmiga will don gowns by Sophie Theallet; and Rodarte will dress Kirsten Dunst and Jamie Bochert.

The new initiative is part of Gap’s support of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Spring 2010 Costume Institute exhibition: American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. It runs May 5 – August 15, 2010.

Beginning May 5, all the dresses will be displayed at Gap’s rotating pop-up shop at 680 Fifth Avenue at 54th Street in New York City for one month. They will all be available in a silent auction at www.gap.com/gownauction. All proceeds will be donated by Gap to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in support of The Costume Institute.

Trend Alert :: Celebrities Embrace Lace

When trend forecasts mentioned lace as a prominent feature in Spring/Summer 2010 fashion, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

But having been able to take a closer look at the trend recently, I’m pretty sure now that it’s one I’ll let pass me by.

There are a few celebrities, however, who apparently don’t feel quite the same way.

Jessica Biel joins Halle Berry, Jessica Alba

News dropped today that actress Jessica Biel has been signed to be a new Global Brand Ambassador for Revlon.

She joins Revlon’s lineup of ambassadors, including Halle Berry, Jennifer Connelly, Jessica Alba, Beau Garrett and Elle Macpherson.

Obviously, you’ll see her in Revlon ads soon but she’ll also be involved with Revlon-related philanthropic activities and charity fundraisers.

Jessica’s first major event in her new role comes off when she joinsRevlon Brand Ambassadors Jennifer Connelly and Jessica Alba at this year’s EIF Revlon Run Walk in New York tomorrow.
