After the snowstorms and blizzards and heavy rains on the side of the world, girls who love sunshine are champing at the bit for warm weather.
But already, my attention has been diverted to Fall, when Summer wardrobes will give way to deeper palettes, heavier fabrics and new trends.
Every season has an “it” bag.
But the ones that get my attention are usually more timeless than trendy. I’ve found one that hits the mark, just before Spring arrives.
Spotted on the arms of every celeb from Sarah Jessica Parker to Reese Witherspoon, the mod Louis Vuitton W bag is shaking up the fashion sphere.
I’m not a guy but every now and then, a great menswear collection stops me in my tracks.
This time around, it’s Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2014 offering.
Inspired by the American road trip, this collection is college-prep-meets-professional. And although it screams sophistication, it is far from stodgy.
I’m not a fan of TSA screenings, long airport lines, or uncomfortable airline seats.
But I am a fan of discovering new places and heading back to my island home of palm-fringed beaches and balmy breezes.
(In case you haven’t heard, Barbados is pretty awesome.)
But as I daydream about my Summer trip home, I’m also forced to think of my pathetic luggage collection.
Sure, I might have pledged to be more of a frugalista in 2013. But I’m still keeping a close eye on luxury.
Enter Louis Vuitton and the A/W 2013 collection presented in Paris this morning.
It was minimalist and mesmerizing.
Marc Jacobs juxtaposed menswear tailoring and super-feminine silhouettes and remixed the iconic Louis Vuitton handbags we’ve come to know and love.

Last week, for my big move to Washington, DC, I packed what seemed like my entire life into three suitcases. So much that it barely seemed legal by airline industry standards.
That said, I was relieved–yet a little disappointed–when I got word of Louis Vuitton’s Art of Packing guide. Disappointed only because I wish I had discovered this feature way earlier!
