As crowds thronged to New York City for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, I huddled over my MacBook Pro for a virtual front-row seat.
There has been a lot to take in. And just about three days shy of its September 13 end, I’ve singled out my favorites so far.
Prabal Gurung definitely delivered with his Spring/Summer 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Saturday.
In a runway show that featured Nicki Minaj seated in the front row, the runway show was an abundance of purple, brilliant use of sheer fabrics and intriguing prints.
I could attempt to describe–in a single blog post–Jason Wu’s SS 12 runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Friday.
But I’m certain I’d fail miserably at it.
The new-school designer had my rapt attention with stunning, flirty silhouettes, surprise pops of color, playful prints and collared looks. The list could go on and on…
Diane von Furstenberg is inimitable and a design superstar.
Now that I’ve put that out there, I won’t need to say much about her Fall/Winter 2011-2012 ready-to-wear collection.
Alexander Wang says his Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection was meant to poke fun at luxury.
Maybe that’s what I like about it.
As a firm believer that fashion shouldn’t only be accessible but also wearable, I rejoiced at the sight of Jason Wu’s Fall 2011 runway presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
As I viewed Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection, I thought to myself, “Classic American fashion never looked so now!”
I’m not kidding, the runway presentation was an amazingly contemporary take on prep.
Totally what it-girls everywhere ought to have in their closets for days when crisp, statement-making styling is required.
Watch the vid. You’ll see!
