Who Wore What :: The Smile Event 2010

Quite a few celebrities showed up at The Smile Event 2010 last night in New York City.

The night featured a premiere dinner, live auction, and dancing to benefit Operation Smile. Jessica Simpson chaired, while Nick Cannon hosted.

Fashion wise, there was a lot to take in. For the second time in one week, Jessica Simpson displayed an affinity for yellow, while models Jaslene and Sessilee kept it interesting with fun, chic looks. I also heart singer Shontelle’s outfit, which was simple yet eye-catching–and in a good way.

Vogue to Produce Largest Fashion Show in NYC History

As if we weren’t already excited enough about September 10, 2010, Fashion’s Night Out outdid itself with a history-making announcement today.

The initiative will stage the largest public fashion show in New York City history on September 7, 2010 at Lincoln Center.

The show is to be produced by Vogue and SPEC Entertainment and will boast over 200 of the industry’s top models, says the CFDA web site.

It will give nearly 1,500 guests a look at the key trends of the Fall 2010 season as identified by the magazine. Tickets for the fashion show will be made available through the Lincoln Center box office this summer with a portion of the proceeds benefitting The New York City AIDS Fund.

I’ll keep you posted!

NYC, Get Ready! Anna Wintour & Mayor Bloomberg Have Spoken.

September 10, 2010 should be a night fashionistas remember.

And recessionistas, too. (That is, if we’re still using words recession-related next year.)

Now to the point.

Yesterday, the Mayor of New York, Vogue and other stakeholders confirmed that Fashion’s Night Out will return next year.

If you missed it this year, you lost out on fabulous deals and after-hours shopping at more than 800 stores across five boroughs.

And to prove it was fabulous, here’s Anna Wintour’s co-sign.

We were absolutely bowled over by the response to Fashion’s Night Out. It was only fifteen minutes after the event began and we were getting reports about lines around the block at stores throughout the city.

Now all you need to do is mark your calendar.

(P.S. It would be incredibly stupid of me not to mention that London, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow, Athens, Taipei, Tokyo, Beijing, Sao Paolo and New Delhi will also host their editions of FNO on the same night! Indeed, an international affair…)
