Another curtain has fallen on American Idol, and another male has won the coveted top spot.

Although my musical love for Phillip Phillips runs deep and wide, there’s no denying that although Jessica Sanchez is runner-up on the music side of things, she hands-down won season 11 with a style ID that cannot be easily forged.

From over-the-top accessories to striking silhouettes, the 16-year-old showed up her fellow contestants in statement-making pieces week after week.

“The City” Fans Lash Out at MTV

Fans of “The City” are mad at MTV–at least the ones who live outside of America.

When the second season of the fashion-focused reality TV show premiered on April 27, many of them turned to MTV.com to watch the full episode online.

However, 12 words stood between them and “The City.” Sorry, we’re unable to offer this video to users in your region.

Some visitors have since taken to the comment function on the site, voicing their protests from as far away as Germany, Israel and South Korea.

One person, identified as Tim Breek, has even set up a petition web site, hoping to get 50,000 signatures to convince MTV to reopen viewing outside of the U.S.

Meet MTV’s Replacement for “The Hills”

With “The Hills” on its way off the MTV roster of shows, it looks like the cable network has already found a replacement.

Today, MTV announced the premiere of “Downtown Girls,” a new series chronicling the life of young NYC socialites.

Scheduled for a Tuesday, June 1 debut at 11PM ET/PT, “Downtown Girls” will follow the “real-life exploits” of a few up and comers. Enter Shallon Lester, who blogs for Glamour.com. Her friends, Gurj, a digital marketing guru at Atlantic Records; Nikki, a fashion boutique owner; Victoria, an aspiring attorney; and Klo, a bride-to-be, have also been listed as cast members.

MTV says we can look out for crazy nights out and ex-boyfriend swaps. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

We’ve been talking about Stylista for a while now.

H&M has just come out saying that they’re partnering with The CW for the new series, which premieres Wednesday, October 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

As you know, 11 determined fashionistas will vie to prove themselves to Fashion News Director and Elle Accessories Editor Anne Slowey and Creative Director Joe Zee from Elle magazine.

And the winner will receive a full year’s clothing allowance from H&M.

No word on exactly how much money the winner will get.

Watch a preview and meet the cast.

Kim Gets The Boot

Seems like it was just yesterday when we posted news about Kim Kardashian’s launch of the “Vote for Kim” T-Shirt.

Thanks to Kim getting the boot from Dancing With The Stars, the life cycle of the recently launched apparel has come to an abrupt end.

Good news is, Kim’s taking her dismissal well, according to her blog post today.

Bad news is, if you bought a shirt, it’s probably useless (unless your name happens to be Kim).

A final check at Kim’s store shows them still retailing at $22.95.

I think it’s time for a markdown!
