Vanessa and Angela Simmons (Rev Run’s daughters and creators of the Pastry brand) have committed to helping Haiti.
With nearly 50 percent of Haiti’s population under the age of 18, the Simmons sisters have pledged a donation of Pastry shoes, as well as clothing, to the kids on the island.
Vanessa, the older of the duo noted, “We can all do something to help. Pastry has chosen to give Haiti’s kids who are displaced and vulnerable to this heart-breaking situation. We pray that they will overcome this unfortunate and horrible tragedy.”
Pastry is working in conjunction with the American Red Cross to coordinate the donation.
Late last week, Crocs also announced a donation of shoes to the Haitian cause.
Looks like Russell Simmons will join ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons and brother, Rev Run, on reality TV.
This brings the Simmons dynasty on the small screen to a total of four shows: “Run’s House,” “Daddy’s Girls,” “Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane”–and now, “The Russell Simmons Project.”
MTV “Run’s House” star Angela Simmons, has cooked up a new song called “Center of Attention” to herald the arrival of Pastry’s newest offering, Glam Pie.
With her sister and business partner, Vanessa Simmons, Angela is representing their newest sneaker, which their camp is calling “a high-topped confection for young ladies’ feet.”
Angela has mixed music and fashion with the recording of “Center of Attention,” which she co-wrote.
The track was produced by Cali producers TrakMatik and Felix Badatua, and will be available as a free download at http://www.pastrykicks.com, beginning July 17th.
“Center of Attention” will also have a music video.
Can’t wait to see what that’s gonna look like!
Fashion house, Gilty Couture, continues to lead the way for celebrity trends and quality jewelry.
Gilty Couture recently caught the attention of top entertainers with their latest accoutrements during the 2008 BET Awards.
Lucky guests chose Gilty Couture’s latest releases to personalize their favorite Apple iPods and iPhones.
Rihanna, Chris Brown, T Pain, Flo Rida, Fergie, Ne-Yo, Al Green, Rick Ross, Big Boi, Vanessa and Angela Simmons, Maxwell, Mario, Ray J and many more were among special guests who walked away with pieces from Gilty Couture.
In addition to honoring the entertainers at the BET Awards, Gilty Couture donated a selection of their fabulous jewelry to the BET Foundation, Educating Young Minds and The Lamp Community, so they can auction the pieces off to further support their organizations.
