It’s always cool when people outside the hip-hop world recognize the art form’s icons.
On Tuesday, Russell Simmons was honored at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s annual SCAD Style Etoile Awards gala.
Also receiving awards were Tony Award-winning Broadway costume designer William Ivey Long, Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion editor Robin Givhan, actress and philanthropist Cornelia Guest, and New York City Planning Director Amanda Burden.
Cynthia Rowley and model, Julie Henderson, were among the attendees.
This month, being blacklisted isn’t such a bad thing.
Just ask Russell Simmons of Phat Farm fame and Serena Williams, tennis pro/fashion designer.
