Two floors and 6,000 sq ft of designer sunglasses on New York’s most fashionable avenue!
That’s what Sunglass Hut invited the stars out to celebrate when it opened its flagship store on Fifth Avenue yesterday.
Hosting the event was recently named Sunglass Hut Style Director, Rachel Bilson.
The new store, in addition to stocking Burberry, Bvlgari, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Persol, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co., and Versace, will feature an uber-cool interactive shopping experience. Customers will be able to try eyewear by taking pictures of themselves, and playing them through a touch screen.

Madonna is at it again.
This time with Guy Oseary, with a designer accessories collection, MDG.
All sunglasses, the line is a design collaboration between Madonna, and Dolce & Gabbana and will launch in May.
From what I’ve heard, it’s a project full of firsts: Madonna’s first foray into the world of eyewear and the first co-branded project Dolce and Gabbana have done in their career.
The collection will showcase the MDG logo on styles and will be manufactured by Luxottica. Price points? $248 to $289 in all Dolce & Gabbana stores worldwide, plus the Sunglass Hut chain and select opticians.
No photos yet but I hope I’ll have some to share soon.
Prada and Sunglass Hut have made Rockefeller Center more exciting for fashion fanatics.
If you walk by the existing Sunglass Hut store at that location from tomorrow to May 5, it may look a little different.
That’s because Prada and the sunglasses store have operned a temporary eyewear concept store there.
The temporary boutique will offer exclusive and special edition Prada sunglasses.
If you can’t make it there before May 5, the sunglass collection will be available online at www.sunglasshut.com after that date.
If you’re in California, Florida, New York, and Nevada, you might notice a similar concept dedicated to Prada in nine area stores.
Be sure to check out sunglasshut.com for the Prada minisite this week, too!
